The Shrewsbury Cross Country Championship is always a very well organized event and considering how far away it is; it is always well supported by Aysgarth Parents.

As the U-11’s set off it was great to see the usual blur of Aysgarth blue amongst the front runners. Sadly our U-11 captain, Harry Gawthorpe injured his ankle in the mass start and had to pull out early on but the rest of the team ran superbly well. It was a wonderful run from Nicko Price to claim second place with the rest of the team packed in quite close behind to gain a very commendable second place in the team event.

Our U-13 team dominated the race from the start with all 6 runners up front. The ever improving George Couttie not only won the race but even overtook the hare! Barnie Gawthorpe took second place, Henry Scott third and Hamish Firth was fifth to claim an outstanding team victory with a total of just 11 points.

This was a fantastic display of team running from the Aysgarth boys who always show such fitness and determination, very well done all runners!
